Where is the MTA-GTS Training Centre located?
The MTA Group Training Scheme Inc. is located at 3 Frederick Road, Royal Park.
Can I have my own apprentice or trainee attend the MTA-GTS Training Centre for trade school?
Yes, under the “USER CHOICE PROGRAM” your business may not use the MTA Group Training Scheme to source its apprentices or trainees but that does not mean you cannot have your own apprentice/trainee trained in panel beating, vehicle painting, motor mechanics and all Certificate II Traineeship vocations, at our accredited Motor Trade Association Automotive Training Centre.
What apprentice training programs do you offer?
The MTA-GTS Automotive Training Centre offers 2 types of training programs.
- A full time, up front training program (stage 1) that consists of up to a 10 week block. This is a major advantage as the apprentice will start in the workforce with the basic trade skills and can be productive from day one. Followed by stages 2 and 3 in two week block release.
The apprentice can finish all off-the-job training by the time they finish the second year of their apprenticeship. - A two week block release for stage 1,2 and 3 completed over three years.
If I need my apprentice at work during a busy period and I receive a trade school call up can the training be postponed?
Yes, the MTA-GTS will work with you to arrange for your MTA-GTS or User Choice apprentice to attend the next available block.
What post trade training do you offer?
Remove and Replace Supplementary Restraint Systems (SRS) Course
This 2-day course covers the removal and replacement units/assemblies such as airbags located in steering wheel assemblies, dash panelling, doors and other locations.
Air Conditioning Course
This 2-day course covers air conditioning systems, repair/retro fit air-conditioning systems and diagnostics, RPL process and copy of the Code of Practice.
Service and Maintain LP Fuel Systems Course
This 5-day course provides participants with a working knowledge of servicing and maintaining LP Gas fuel systems and components fitted to motor vehicles.
Install LP Fuel Systems Course
This 5-day course provides participants with a working knowledge of selecting and fitting LP Gas components and systems for motor vehicles in accordance with the appropriate standards and state government regulations.
Wheel Alignment Course
This 2-day course covers operating principles of steering geometry, wheel alignment procedures, diagnosing fault systems, component defects and frame alignment checks.
