User Choice Students
As the employer of an apprentice/trainee YOU have the right to choose the RTO that you would prefer to deliver the off-the-job training component to your apprentice/trainee. Exercise your right and support your industry based automotive training centre.
Under the “USER CHOICE PROGRAM” your business may not use the MTA Group Training Scheme to source its apprentices, but that does not mean you cannot have your own apprentices trained in panel beating, vehicle painting, motor mechanics (light vehicle) and all Certificate II Traineeship vocations, at our accredited Motor Trade Association Automotive Training Centre.
The Motor Trade Association Automotive Training Centre offers two types of training programs:
- A full time, up front training program (stage 1) that consists of up to a 10 week block. This is a major advantage as the apprentice will start in the workforce with the basic trade skills and can be productive from day one. Followed by stages 2 and 3 in two week block release.
The apprentice can finish all off-the-job training by the time they finish the second year of their apprenticeship.
or
- A two week block release for stage 1,2 and 3 completed over three years.
Other advantages of the Training Centre include
- More flexibility with the training program
- Can start apprentices all year round
- Enables closer monitoring of students’ progress
- Enables closer monitoring of students’ attendance/behaviour
- Enables complete off-the-job training for “User Choice” students
- One lecturer per student group per vocation
- The Motor Trade Association Automotive Training Centre has expanded its equipment and training aids to keep up with the changing technology in the Automotive Industry.
